Challenge
One of Honduras' largest news organizations was on a legacy WordPress setup that was slow and costly to scale — but the newsroom relied on WordPress every day and couldn't give it up.
Approach
I helped move the site to a decoupled front end that kept WordPress as the authoring tool through a GraphQL wrapper and a caching layer to cut costs. From there it was the news-site essentials: AMP, ad integrations, semantic and accessible markup, data parsing, and performance work.
Outcome
A faster, modern reading experience for a national newspaper that kept journalists in the tools they knew — improving SEO, accessibility, and load times without disrupting the newsroom.
